The Munay-Ki are the nine great rites of initiation of the medicine way and path of wisdom. The word munay means “I love you” or “BE AS THOU ART.” The Munay-Ki are the nine energetic transmissions that help heal us and transform our human energy field into the “new” human being of Light and Love. Three rites are “installed” in the luminous energy field. The six lineage rites are transmitted energetically, and connect us to the luminous ones who are available to assist us and work with and thru us on our journey toward personal healing, earth stewardship and en-Light-enment.

Traditionally, many of these rites known as “karpays” were only gifted shaman to student during the rigorous years of initiation and training on the medicine path of a healer or wisdom keeper. Some rites could only be received directly from nature and spirit. Today, because of the rapid changes on the earth, and the urgent need for us collectively as humans to make a shift in our consciousness, the Q’ero elders, have come forward to offer the “Munay-Ki Rites” to all those who feel called to them.
The Q’ero of the high Andes of Peru are not only mystics, healers and high medicine men and women, they are the keepers of a body of living prophecies. Much like the Mayan and Hopi Indians of the American Southwest, they too have spiritual prophecies telling of this time of chaos on the earth – a time they call ”pachakuti” – the world turned upside down.
The ninth rite, the Creator Rite was received by the Q’ero in the holy mountains of the Andes in the summer of 2006. After the Q’ero elders “dreamed about it”, they agreed to share all nine rites of the Munay-Ki. Alberto Villoldo of the Four Winds Society considers this “the most important work of his life” 25 years immersed in the field of energy medicine and Peruvian shamanic practice. The rites are indeed a profound gift of Grace and opportunity believed never availabe to us on earth before.
People receiving the rites have a range of response, from subtle to profound. Some experience immediate shifts in perception, awareness, insights, etc. The rites are gifted as “seeds” and must be cultivated by the recipent with fire, attention, and intention. The mentorship and stewardship programs I offer are intended to support you through the journey of the rites, deepening your connection to the energy and power of each rite, and assisting you in cultivating them into sources of beauty, power and wisdom.
The Healer’s Rite or The Journeyer’s Rite, helps us recognize we are on a spiritual journey. This rite connects us to a lineage of medicine men and women from the past who come and assist in our personal healing. These luminous beings work on us during our meditation and sleep time to heal our wounds of the past and those of our ancestors. They make themselves available to us when we open sacred space to do personal healing or to offer healing for another. When we receive this rite, we begin to recognize the impact we have on others and take conscious responsibility for our words and our actions. We become aware of the shared healing journey we are on, and receive the help of the many luminous healers from many traditions, who have gone before us.
The Bands of Power are five energetic bands of colored light – each connecting us to one of the elements – earth, water, fire, air and Spirit, and forming a rainbow fountain of light around our physical body. When these bands are installed in our Luminous energy field, they act as filters, transmuting any heavy energies that come your way into one of the elements. The bands in this way serve as a powerful form of protection, while at the same supporting our energetic connection to the natural world. Over time, our former fear based armoring and protections dissolve away as our rainbow body strengthens.
The Harmony Rites are powerful archetypal energies placed as seeds in each of your seven chakras. The first four chakras receive power animal archetypes: Serpent in the first (base) chakra; Jaguar in the second; Hummingbird in the third and Eagle/Condor in the fourth (heart) chakra. In the upper three chakras you will receive the energies from the realms of the archangels – Huascar, the Keeper of the Lower World and the unconscious is transmitted into the fifth chakra (the throat); Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent God of the Americas, and keeper of the middle world (our waking world) goes into the sixth (the third eye); and Pachakuti, the protector of the upper world (our super-conscious) and keeper of the time to come goes into the seventh chakra at the crown.
These archetypes are transmitted into your chakras as seeds. These seeds germinate with fire, and you will cultivate them with fire ceremony, fire breath meditation and other processes. These rites support your chakras to shine with their original light as you acquire a rainbow body. This rite helps you to shed your past the way the serpent sheds her skin.
The Seer Rites installs filaments of light extending from your third eye and pathways above your ears to the visual cortex in the back of your head; these are connected to your heart by a luminous necklace of light. These pathways are infused with energy, awakening the shaman’s way of “seeing”. This rite helps us to perceive energy in new ways, and to see ourselves and others with the eyes of compassion.
The Bands of Power, the Harmony Rites and the Seer Rites are the “foundation rites”. They prepare our luminous energy field to receive and hold the vibrations of the next five lineage rites:
Singing the World Into Being
The Daykeeper Rite is the rite of the Divine Feminine. Whether we are women or men, this rite helps us heal and balance our feminine energies, and aligns us with the sacred feminine powers, rhythms and cycles of the earth in relation to the cosmos. As we join the lineage of Daykeepers, we awaken to our roles as ceremonialists, keepers of sacred altars, attendants to life’s milestones and passages. We may remember the songs and ceremonies, or create new ones from a place of deep knowing and power. Our role is to help maintain balance and beauty on the earth in a sacred way – guided and supported by the luminous ones who now reside in Spirit, yet make themselves available to us.
The Wisdom Keeper Rite – This rite connects us to the Divine Masculine. The legends say that the ancient wisdom resides in the high mountains.. The job of the Wisdomkeeper is to protect the medicine teachings and share them with others when appropriate. This rite helps you to step outside of time and taste infinity. As the sacred masculine is healed and comes into balance with the sacred feminine, we restore our compassionate nature, no longer resorting to abusing power or our envirionment.
Pachamama - Our Mother Earth
The Earthkeeper Rite – This rite connects you to a lineage of archangels that are guardians of our galaxy. They’re reputed to have human form and be as tall as trees. The Earthkeepers, who are stewards of all life on the Earth, come under the direct protection of these archangels and can summon their power when they need to in order to bring healing and balance to any situation. The rite of the Earthkeepers helps you learn the ways of the seer, and to dream the world into being. You no longer see the earth from the perspective of your community or your country, but you can see the earth as she orbits thru space, and you help create a healthy and beautiful planet that supports all life, with your intention, energy and prayers. You feel a kinship will all peoples and all life and you seek to serve the good of all.
The Starkeeper Rite – This rite anchors you safely to the time after the great change that is said will occur on or around the year 2012. According to lore, when you receive this rite, your physical body begins to evolve into that of Homo luminous. When you receive these rites, you acquire stewardship of the time to come and all future generations. As Starkeepers we step into the role of stewards of the universe and all time. When we have received this rite, we can journey forward in time and bring back what is needed to fulfill the situation occurring now. This rite helps prepare our luminous body to shine with the light of our closest star, the sun.
The Creator Rite is the final rite in this process of human enlightenment. To hold the energy of this rite, we need to have prepared and grown all the seeds of the previous rites in our luminous body, as well as our physical and mental bodies. As we journey through the rites, healing the issues of duality and fear, we become free from the energies that confined our ability to hold the Light. As we become clear, more of our soul energy can actually be sourced through our being….and we shine from within like the sun.
Cosmic Consciousness Unfolding
When you receive this initiation, you awaken the God-light within you and acquire stewardship for all of creation, from the smallest grain of sand to the largest cluster of galaxies in the universe. This rite has never been available before on the planet. Although there were individuals who attained this level of initiation, and awakened their Christ or Buddha consciousness, it was never possible to transmit these from one person to another, until very recently. So while Spirit-to-human transmission happened on occasion, human-to-human transmission of these energies was impossible until now.
These are the Nine Great Rites of Enlightenment, known as the Munay-Ki, gifted to us by the extraordinary Q’ero medicine men and women of the high Andes in Peru. We receive them as the seeds for cultivating our rainbow garden of beauty and transformation, to support our journey….so we in turn can support the beauty and becoming of our community, our planet and our cosmos.
